| South Milton is one of the most peaceful and picturesque villages close to Kingsbridge. Like many, it lost the village store and post office a few years back. Thurlestone has a great village post office and local store. Drive from Kingsbridge towards Salcombe; turn right at the South Milton sign. You can park in South Milton and wander around. For walkers, there are beautiful walks up and over the hills. For the beaches, drive through South Milton and follow the signs to Thurlestone. The beaches are popular with walkers in the morning and bathers the rest of the day. It's one of the largest beaches in the area. At low tide, the extensive rocks are visible and easily scramble-able for children with hundreds of exciting rock pools. Tide Times are available here. Thurlestone Golf Club is next to the beach, public footpaths are clearly marked alongside and through it. |
