Regents Park is Big. Make no mistake, it's bigger than it looks.
At the bottom are some lovely gardens, and the boating lake. At the top is London Zoo. It's a 40 minute hike from bottom to top.
And it's a gorgeous Park.
Their website is well worth a look at.
Ragents Park has roads that run around it; the houses are very expensive. But nice to look at.
Part of the park is laid out in formal gardens; and the flowers and ambience are truly beautiful.
Take a picnic.
But when we say Big, we really mean it. You need to work out how you are going to get transport once you have finished for the day. It's a long walk out of this park.
The part of Regents Park which is laid out formally is seriosuly beautiful. You can sit amongst the flowers with your family. I promise you, it's lovely.
And Big. That 'barrier' of trees hides another 2km of open space behind it. Go for a a day and take a picnic.
Nice buildings around it; wish I could have one !
This is just a few hundred mtrs from Oxford Circus (and therefore from Regent St; Bond St; Rich Place....)

And the reason it's fascinating ? Despite the BT Tower being one of the most recognisable and conspicuous buildings in London, it was classed as an 'official secret' until fairly recently, and taking or possessing photos of the BT/Post Office Tower was technically an offence under the Official Secrets Act!

The prices of boating: roughly, they want £ 20 off you. It's a reasonable deal for a family day out.
Honestly, don't you think that The Regents Park is Beautiful ?
The park is laid out so that natural barriers stop you from seeing all of it at once. You get to one natural fence; and then see yet another mile of land in front of you to walk across.
Trust me, it's massive. But well worth it.
It's also full of benches and nice places to sit.
As well as the main boating lake, there's also a smaller pond for the kids to take pedaloes safely on their own.
And another kids playground (there's more than one, but this one's got a treehouse)
